Danielle Bell

Danielle Bell, 38, of Buckeye died May 28, 2013, from cancer.

Mrs. Bell was born April 23, 1975, in Kearney, Neb., to Edith Ann Duncan and Don McPherson.

She is survived by her husband of 20 years, Randy “Brian” Bell; one daughter, Taylor-Ann; two sons, Tristin and Trenton; her mother, Edith Ann Duncan; five sisters, Debbie, Angel, Dee, Amie and Nicole; and four brothers, Danny, Russell, Rusty and Dustin.

A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ganley’s Buckeye Funeral Home, 104 E. Baseline Road in Buckeye.

Edward H. Bettinger

Edward H. Bettinger, 79, of Buckeye died May 9, 2013, from lung and heart problems.

Mr. Bettinger was born Sept. 18, 1933, in Camden, N.J.

He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Bonita Bettinger; one son, Russell Jack Bettinger; three daughters, Denise Mountcastle, Dawn Myrvold and Bonita Colley; 12 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be at 10 a.m. June 12 at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.

Joyce Marie Garrison

Joyce Marie Garrison, 80, of Buckeye died June 5, 2013, at her home.

Mrs. Garrison was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Houston to Edgar and Mary Glover Miller.

She was a member of the Pentecostal Church. She was a telephone operator for Ma Bell and also worked at the Wigwam in Litchfield Park. She was in the Desert CBer’s and had the handle Texas Rose.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Garrison; and one daughter, Sharon Gail Garrison.

She is survived by four daughters, Pamela Donaldson of Luling, La., Patricia Buttes of Buckeye, Donna McCauley of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sandra Jones of Avondale; three sons, David Garrison of Seagoville, Texas, Michael Garrison of Glendale and Mark Garrison of El Mirage; two sisters, Esther Cloud and Charlene McEntire; one brother, Charles Miller; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. June 10 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road in Goodyear. A funeral service will be at 9 a.m. June 11 at Thompson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at West Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6290 W. Northern Ave. in Glendale.

The Rev. Ray Brown of Truth Tabernacle in Avondale will officiate.

Kimberly Gray

Kimberly Gray, 47, of Goodyear died May 31, 2013.

Ms. Gray was born July 16, 1965, to Jim Gray and Lucinda Neff.

She is survived by her partner of 10 years, Gilbert Ramirez; two daughters, Hayley Chesmore and Melinda Wright; one son, Jake Chesmore; her father and stepmother, Jim and Patty Gray; her mother, Lucinda Neff; three brothers, Jeff, Jon and Jimmy Gray; and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 10 at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, 522 E. Western Ave. in Avondale.

Brice G. Johnson

Brice G. Johnson, 78, of Goodyear died June 1, 2013.

Mr. Johnson was born June 3, 1934, in Rural Taylor County, Iowa, to Leroy E. Johnson and Mary Melvin.

He served in the Army from 1954 to 1957 as a specialist third class and fought in the Korean War. He received the U.S. Army Freedom Team Salute. He was a Mason, a member of the Grand Lodge of Iowa for more than 50 years and a past member of the Arcadia Lodge of Armdale. He was also a member of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn.

He is survived by one daughter, Deborah; one son, Brent; one sister, Irene; two brothers, Edward and Russel; and one grandchild.

Private services will be held.

Martha G. Marstall

Martha G. Marstall, 91, of Waddell died June 3, 2013.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul A. Marstall.

She is survived by five children, Steve, Sherry, Mark, James and Thomas; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. June 11 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 539 La Pasada Blvd. in Goodyear.

William Lee May Jr.

William Lee May Jr., 71, of Goodyear died June 1, 2013.

Mr. May was born March 27, 1942, in Youngstown, Ohio, to William May Sr. and Virginia Matteson.

He served in the Army.

He is survived by his wife, Mauricette May; one son, William May III; one daughter, Betty J. May Friend; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Lighthouse Fellowship, 3015 N. Jackrabbit Trail.

Renate Seline Neumann

Renate Seline Neumann, 90, of Litchfield Park died June 1, 2013.

Mrs. Neumann was born July 9, 1922, in Leipzig, Germany, to Friedrich and Helene Strich.

She worked with Flying Samaritans of San Diego to help sick people in Mexico. She also worked for Lufthansa for 26 years as a bookkeeper and accountant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leif Neumann.

She is survived by one son, Michael Neumann; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial will be at 11 a.m. June 15 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road in Goodyear.

Phillip D. Rice

Phillip D. Rice, 64, of Goodyear died May 31, 2013.

Mr. Rice was born in Sturgis, Mich., to Marion and Elizabeth Rice.

Following graduation from Colon High School, he worked for Kirsch Co. of Sturgis, Mich., and then enlisted in the Navy, serving aboard the USS Fox for two tours of duty off the coast of Vietnam, from 1968 to 1971.

Following his discharge, he returned to Kirsch Co. and enrolled in its electrical apprenticeship program, becoming a journeyman in 1976.

In 1978, he moved his family to Arizona. He continued his industrial electrical career, working for Reynolds Metals, The Arizona Republic, American National Can Co. and Unidynamics. He retired in 2009 from Arizona Public Service Co. as an electrical maintenance supervisor at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station after almost 20 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Susan; one daughter, Ammi; and one brother, Robert.

No services will be held at this time.

Vincent S. Valenzuela

Vincent S. Valenzuela, 37, of Tolleson died June 3, 2013.

Mr. Valenzuela was born Sept. 30, 1975, in Phoenix to Vincente and Lucianna Valenzuela.

He is survived by his wife, Angelica; two sons, Jordan and Carter; one daughter, Savannah Zoe; and his father, Vincente.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m., with a service to follow at 10 a.m. today at Love International Ministries, 5219 N. 27th Ave. in Phoenix. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W. Thomas Road in Avondale.

Funeral arrangements were made by Advantage Crystal Rose Funeral Home in Tolleson.
