The 16th Annual Litchfield Park Art & Culinary Festival will return to the city from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at 101 W. Wigwam Blvd.

The two-day event will feature more than 200 art and culinary booths as well as entertainment and a few special celebrity guests.

Well-known Valley chefs Eddie Matney and Matt Carter will be in attendance and will provide demonstrations for festival goers.

Matney, known as “the most colorful chef” in the Phoenix area, has opened numerous restaurants in the Valley and co-hosts the television show Your Life A to Z on 3TV twice a month. He’s also been named the top chef of the Phoenix area five times by Phoenix Magazine. Carter is the chef at Zinc Bistro in Scottsdale.

This year’s event has more participants than previous years’, event coordinator Candy Vermillion said.

“The celebrity chefs we’re having in new for this year,” Vermillion said. “We have more culinary booths.”

One of the booths will feature chocolate straight from Germany.

“We actually have a colonel in the Air Force that flies chocolates in from Germany, and she’s going to have a booth set up,” Vermillion said.

The festival will also include wine tastings featuring wines from all over Arizona, including Oak Creek Vineyards in Sedona, and Flying Leap Vineyards and Sonoita Vineyards, both in Elgin.

Accompanying the various food vendors will be live music, featuring the Sahnas Brothers, Inka Gold, VeeRonna and The Sonoran Jazz Project.

Scy and Marianne Caroselli, a mother and daughter sculpting team from Colorado, will be demonstrating their craft as well. Scy and Marianne were trained in the art of sculpting in Italy, Vermillion said.
