The West Valley keeps expanding and residents are greeting new businesses, most recently a family-owned manufacturing and construction business in Goodyear and a locally owned scrub seller for health care professionals in Avondale. OrthoArizona is adapting to the population growth by adding a new surgeon to its team. Business Briefcase breaks it down.

Copper State Bolt & Nut Co. is bringing its distribution center to the West Valley.
With over 50 years of service in multiple states, the company is moving into the new PV 303 development in Goodyear.
Copper State Bolt & Nut Co. was founded in Phoenix in 1972 with six employees. Now, as it is expanding, it has almost 500 employees and services over 20,000 customers.
“We have spent 50 years evolving to support our fast-paced, service-oriented industry, and our latest expansion is no exception,” Copper State CEO Sarah Shannon said.
“This new facility expands our reach farther into Phoenix’s West Valley than we have been before, where so many of our customers are building and operating in response to a nearly unprecedented commercial and residential boom. With our location at PV 303, we will be right where they need us to be.”
The new warehouse and distribution building, built by Stevens-Leinweber Construction, will be 39,491 square feet on 5 acres at the southwest corner of PV 303. It is expected to be open and operating in January.

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Hawkins has just recently joined the team at OrthoArizona in August.
“I am excited to join such a strong and diverse orthopedic team as OrthoArizona that is focused on competent, complete, and compassionate care of their patients,” Hawkins said.
Hawkins earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine and previously served as the founder and practice manager at Arizona Spine Care, where he cared for over 3,000 patients and performed around 250 surgeries and pain procedures per year.
“The most important aspect of patient care is the patient,” Hawkins said. “It’s to identify the primary cause for their pain and dysfunction and then deliver the correct and appropriate care for that individual.”
With over 60 treating physicians led by Dr. John K. Bradway, OrthoArizona has been serving the Valley since 1994 at over 40 locations.
