Comfort food alert: Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen is coming soon to Goodyear.
“As for the opening date – I’ll let you know as soon as I’m able to share that with you,” said a rather coy Chase Granger, company spokesman.
Officially, he would say this:
“Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen will soon open a new restaurant in Goodyear, serving scratch-made food at an extraordinary value. The restaurant will be located at 15030 W. McDowell Road.”
We know the opening date is coming soon, as the company started a hiring event on Saturday, Nov. 9.
“This new location will bring more than 150 jobs to Goodyear, and the restaurant team is now hiring. Available positions include servers, cooks, bartenders, hosts and more,” said a press release from Granger.
“Interviews will be conducted at the restaurant daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Friday, Nov. 15. After that, interviews will be held Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.”
Applicants can also walk in for an application.
For those of us who don’t want to do any work, and are just interested in grazing, Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen menu features chicken pot pie, New Orleans pasta, country-fried steak and (dare to say it?) “Better Than Mom’s Meatloaf.”

Very-unofficial survey: Motorcycle riders like comfort food.
So, the folks riding to Roadrunner Harley-Davidson at 159th Avenue and McDowell Road in Goodyear may be regulars at Cheddar’s.
No word yet on an opening date for Roadrunner Harley, but it is posting construction photos on Facebook.
And, in a “sign” that opening is coming soon, Roadrunner Harley just had a request for a 65-foot sign approved by Goodyear City Council.
It should be hard to miss.
