U.S. Air Force Airman 1st Class Kaeleigh Helsham-Strickland graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.
The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Helsham-Strickland earned distinction as an honor graduate.
She is the daughter of Wilbur Helsham of the U.S. Air Force Academy, Colorado, and sister of Evan Helsham of El Mirage. She is the sister of Jake Helsham of the U.S. Air Force Academy, and wife of Antonio Strickland of El Mirage.
The airman is a 2007 graduate of Air Academy High School, U.S. Air Force Academy. She earned an associate degree in 2013 from Estrella Mountain Community College in Avondale.
