Buckeye residents are invited to vote for their favorite elementary, middle or high school artist in the city’s art contest, “Draw a Better Buckeye.”
Winners will be announced at the Tuesday, May 21, city council meeting, but artwork will be on display at City Hall, 530 E. Monroe Avenue, through Wednesday, May 22.
The contest from the city’s public works department focuses on sustainability measures, recycling and preventing pollution. The students demonstrated the importance of sustainability and keeping Buckeye a thriving community through artwork.
Prizes are awarded in three categories and donated by Republic Services:
• Third through fifth grade
• Sixth through eighth grade
• Ninth through 12th grade
