The city of Buckeye named Miranda Gomez its new director of community services.
Gomez has worked for Buckeye since 2005 and was recently the department’s assistant director.
Gomez helped to achieve some of the department’s accomplishments, including National Accreditation from the Commission for Accreditation of Parks and Recreation, the department’s master plan and strategic plan.
She also helped launch the Buckeye Marathon and the expansion of the Buckeye Air Fair from a one-day event to a three-day event that now includes a live air show.
“Buckeye has always been my home away from home,” Gomez said. “My love for the city, the residents and staff, along with my experience and knowledge of Buckeye’s programs and events will help us continue to meet the city’s needs as the city continues to grow.”
“Miranda’s passion and extensive experience in the city will ensure the city continues to provide quality recreation activities, beautiful parks, educational programs and family-friendly events our residents expect,” said City Manager Roger Klingler.
Gomez has more than 20 years of experience programming, coordinating, planning, analyzing and managing parks and recreation programs, projects and services.
