Alleged serial shoplifters escaped from police after stealing from a Goodyear mall in December.
But the Goodyear Police did not give up in this case, tracking a couple from the East Valley to Queen Creek. There, a man who allegedly tried to ram police vehicles was shot by police. He and his alleged accomplice were taken into custody Jan. 24, at Queen Creek Marketplace.
A month before, Brian Garduno of Goodyear and Megan Elizabeth Revier of Show Low allegedly shoplifted at TJ Maxx in Goodyear.
Police spotted a vehicle the two were driving but the suspects eluded an attempt to stop them.
“During the lengthy follow-up investigation, it was discovered the vehicle was stolen and the two suspects were wanted for over 100 felony charges related to 41 cases of theft and shoplifting throughout the valley, resulting in over $25,000 in loss,” said Lisa Berry of the Goodyear Police Department.
Berry said the vehicle was located by Goodyear Police officers in the East Valley and followed to the TJ Maxx at Queen Creek Marketplace.
Garduno, 30, was charged with retail and vehicle theft, unlawful flight and DUI. He was treated briefly at a hospital, then taken to Maricopa County jail.
Revier, 27, was charged with vehicle theft.
Both faced a preliminary hearing Tuesday.
