Tolleson resident Crystal Moore, an emergency department tech at Abrazo Central Campus, was named a “Tenet Hero” and also inducted into the Tenet Heroes’ Hall of Fame for her contributions in 2020.
Abrazo Health’s parent organization, Tenet Healthcare, annually celebrates individuals who make a meaningful impact that goes above and beyond their daily job responsibilities through its Tenet Heroes program. Nominated by colleagues at Abrazo Central Campus hospital, the award exemplifies the company’s core values and the key tenets of its Community Built on Care.
Each year, a small group of nominees are inducted into the Tenet Heroes’ Hall of Fame, the company’s most prestigious honor for employees. This year, 24 individuals were named to the Hall of Fame, including Moore.
Moore’s energetic personality keeps staff spirits and morale high by supporting fellow staff members, planning social activities and organizing charity donations for local family organizations.
Her contributions include pitching in to work extra shifts and train other staffers as well as organizing hot chocolate bars, specialty meals for night shift, and a bowling night for ER staff. Each quarter, she helps organize charity donations such as programs for children experiencing grief, a women and children’s shelter, a back-to-school supplies drive, and Christmas angels. Caring for patients and families as well, she developed sympathy cards to send to families who lost a loved one in the hospital ER.
“Abrazo Central is proud to have a member of our emergency department team selected to be inducted into the Tenet Heroes Hall of Fame, Tenet’s highest honor for staff,” said Ed Staren, CEO at Abrazo Central Campus.
“Crystal has inspired us through her actions to make a positive and meaningful difference in our community. We are grateful for Crystal’s efforts, selfless nature and commitment to compassionate care particularly throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are proud to work alongside her.”
