Thomas Leldon Hice passed in Buckeye on November 25th, 2017. He was born in Lauderdale County, Alabama on December 18, 1939 to Dan Thomas and Myrtle Alexander Hice. After years driving for others he started his own business, Hice Hay Sales. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother. Thomas is survived by his wife Roxie, three sons Dan (Bethany), James (Jodi), Michael (Debra), 2 daughters Tammy (David) and Carol, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. 6 brothers Frank (Patty), Doyce, Royce, Charles (Kim), Doug (Nan), Jimmy (Angie), 1 sister Brenda, many nieces and nephews. Shawn Adrian Ortega, 27, of Avondale passed away November 10, 2017 in Goo- dyear. Shawn was baptized February 27 in 2005 at the Potter House Christian Fellow- ship Church in Avondale. He is survived by Parents Linda Sandoval and Fernando Ortega; Daughter Janette Mar- ie Gardea; Sister Janette Marie Gardea; Grandparents Antonio and Elaine Sandoval; 6 Aunts Donna, Joanne, Rosie, Audrie, Terry and Denise; 2 Uncles John and Joseph; and many cousins. Lawrence “Lorenzo” Gonzales
Lawrence “Lorenzo” Gonzales, 86, of Scottsdale, passed away on November 15, 2017 in Ahwatukee. He was born December 10, 1931 to Santos and Adelina Gonzales in San Marcos, TX. He joined the Air Force in 1951, and was stationed in Liver- pool, England during the Korean War. He is preceded in death by daughter, Rosie. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years Marie, daughter Josie Villa, granddaughter Christina Villa of Scottsdale, and brother San- tos Gonzales, Jr. of Buckeye. Services were held at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Buck- eye, AZ on Monday November 27, 2017. Burial was at Louis Hazelton Cemetery in Buckeye. Funeral arrangements were handled by Ganley’s Funeral Home in Buckeye. Diane Mary Mayer
Diane Mary Mayer, aged 66, passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in Waddell, Arizona. She was born to Rosaria and Louis Mucerino on June 9, 1951 in Chicago, Illinois. Diane is survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Martin, Nancy Restagno; her two daughters, Michelle Glosemeyer, nee McCormick (Theodore), and Elizabeth Mayer; her son, Joseph Mayer; and her granddaughter Annalise Glosemeyer. She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends. Diane’s wishes were to be cremated. Reyes Medrano passed away on November 16, 2017 at the age of 68. He was born on Janu- ary 6, 1949 in Phoenix and raised in Tolleson. Reyes is survived by his wife, Francia Par- menter, and her children and grandchildren, his children, Reyes Jr. (Elisa), Juan (Dani), Hubert, Manuel, Zanya, Adriana and numer- ous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Candelario and Rita Medrano and his sisters, Julia Villarreal, Vicki Trejo, and Maria Elena Medrano. A celebration of his life will be held on December 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at King of Kings Church, 3095 N. 140th Ave., Goo- dyear, with a reception immediately following. Deanna Baker, 80, of Goodyear, passed away on November 17, 2017 from complications related to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Mrs. Baker is predeceased by her hus- band of 60 years, Marion Baker, parents Hezekiah and Edna Bolin, her sister Michelle Helin and brother Jack Bolin. Surviving to cher- ish her memory are her sister, Linda Shearer of Wheel- ing, Illinois, her five children Michael Baker (Melody) of Tucson, Arizona; Brenda Brooks (William) of Goodyear, Arizona; Douglas Baker (Jennifer) of Tucson, Arizona; Kimberly Scott (Dave) of Santa Barbara, California and Lawson Baker of Avondale, Arizona. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Mrs. Baker will be buried next to her husband at Ar- lington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, at a later date.
